The phone desk for moving companies

Your phone is losing you moves. We answer every call.

Day or night, we pick up, ask what a dispatcher would ask, and book the estimate before the caller dials the next company.

How the demo works

  1. 1Call the number above
  2. 2Ask for a quote like a real customer
  3. 3Make it hard: piano, third floor, no elevator
Beltway Moving Live call · after hours · 9:41 pm

Hi, do you move pianos? I'm up on the third floor.

We do. Is there an elevator in the building, or stairs the whole way?

Stairs. It's a walkup.

Good to know, I'll plan the crew for it. What day works? I can hold Saturday 9 am.

Saturday works.

The problem

This is an answering problem, not a marketing problem.

62%
of moving companies miss their first call
3 in 100
callers bother to leave a voicemail
39%
industry average close rate on answered calls
3 to 5
movers get the same shared lead. Fastest response wins.

The lead was paid for. The phone rang. Nobody picked up.

How it works

Three steps, and you keep your number.

  1. Forward your line

Only the calls you miss, or only after hours. Your phone always rings first.

  2. We qualify like a mover

Stairs, parking, COI, piano. Every answer lands in a job record.

  3. The estimate books itself

The caller gets a text confirmation. You get a push with the whole job.

Transcript excerpt

10xmovers

Thanks for calling Beltway Moving. I can get an estimate on the calendar for you. House, rowhouse, or apartment building?

Caller

A rowhouse on Capitol Hill. We're going into a high rise in Navy Yard.

10xmovers

Got it. Most high rises want a certificate of insurance and a reserved freight elevator window. Has your building sent you a move-in packet?

Caller

They sent something. I haven't opened it.

10xmovers

No problem, I'll flag the COI and the elevator reservation so the crew isn't turned away at the door. Now, anything heavy? Piano, safe, pool table?

Questions

The things a skeptical owner asks first.

Do you make outbound calls or robocalls?

No. We only answer calls that come in to your number. We never dial out to a consumer with an AI voice and we never cold call on your behalf. That is why this stays clean under the TCPA, the federal law on automated calls.

The only outbound messages are texts to someone who just called your business, and every one carries an opt-out.

What happens when it does not know the answer?

It says so, takes the details, and stops guessing. You get a push notification with the caller's number and what they wanted, and a human calls back. We would rather hand you a warm callback than invent an answer that costs you the job.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. You keep the number on your trucks and your Google listing. Conditional call forwarding sends us only the calls you miss or the hours you choose, and you can turn it off from your own phone in under a minute.

Is the missed-call text back compliant?

Yes. Business texting runs on A2P 10DLC registration and we handle that paperwork during setup. Messages identify your business, only go to people who called you first, and stop immediately when someone replies STOP.

Will callers know it is not a person?

Some will. It never pretends to be human if asked directly, because getting caught lying on the first call is worse than anything it saves. What matters is the caller leaves with a time on the calendar instead of a voicemail beep. Call the demo line and judge for yourself.

Will it quote a price and stick me with it?

Not unless you tell it to. By default it books the estimate, and gives ranges only if you provide a rate card. It never commits you to a binding price on a job nobody has looked at.

Do you work in my city?

Yes. We work with movers anywhere in the US. Setup includes a question pack tuned to your market: parking permits, building certificates of insurance, elevator reservations, walkups. Washington DC was our first market, so it is the most battle-tested.

Can I cancel? How long is setup?

Cancel any time, month to month, no fee, and we export your call records on the way out. Setup takes about a week, most of it waiting on texting registration. The part that needs you is roughly an hour.

You keep moving furniture. We make sure every call books a job.

The fastest way to judge this is to be a difficult customer on the demo line.

The demo is a real agent on a demo account. Nobody calls you back unless you ask.
